The long fine openly spaced leaves effectively block out the heat on sunny days, they also allow light to filter through in winter, whilst still being a good screen. In blossom it produces beautiful white blossoms that honey eating birds and butterflies love to eat from. A very useful small tree for shelter belts and windbreaks.
