Hardenbergia violacea is a compact, spreading shrub producing masses of rich purple, pea-shaped flowers from late winter to spring. Ideal as an understorey plant, groundcover, or trained over walls, it suits both large landscapes and small garden beds. Prefers full sun to part shade and well-drained soil, and tolerates dry periods once established. Height 0.3–0.5 m, width 1.5–3 m.
